The Legislative break out session was led as usual by COL Sam Wilder, USA, Ret, the VCOC MOAA Vice President and Legislative Chair.  Legislative reps from Virginia chapters worked on establishing state-level Legislative Priorities for the next session of the General Assembly.  The VCOC MOAA is very active on Virginia's Joint Leadership Council of veterans services organizations (JLC), which speaks with one voice on legislative issues.
Virginia chapters of MOAA leaders met to discuss next year's state-level legislative priorities 10 July 2009.  They met in the library of the George C. Marshall museum.  This photo shows a briefing by Lisa Meunier, CAPT, USN, Ret, representing the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program (VWWP).  That program was instituted per previous legislative push by Virginia chapters of MOAA and the Joint Leadership Council of Veterans Services Organizations (JLC).   Presiding over the meeting is COL Sam Wilder, USA, Ret, VCOC 1st VP and Legislative Chair.  Photo is by Mr Bob Mallison, the husband of VCOC PAO. Bob took two of the wives on a shopping tour of lexington as well as a walking tour of the museum.  George C. Marshall was the host chapter of MOAA for the meeting.

: Pogue Auditorium, George C. Marshall Museum on VMI Parade Ground, Lexington, VA 24450 (lunch buffet in VMI's Moody Hall)

Cost: $25 per person.  Covers coffee and donuts in the morning as well as lunch.  Lunch will be a nice buffet meal in VMI’s Moody Hall, two buildings down from the Marshall Museum.  Pay on site.
